Rooted in Alberta
Focused on Cochrane

Mavy Mangat is a civil litigator, born and raised Albertan, and proud resident in the riding. He and his wife, Alisha, call the community home and look forward to raising their family here.

Mavy has dedicated his career to problem solving and advocacy through the law, helping people navigate complex challenges and standing up for what is right.

A committed conservative volunteer, he believes strongly in public service and in community-led solutions that reflect the values of the people who live here.

Mavy believes Alberta’s future should be shaped by the people of Alberta. He is committed to protecting what makes Cochrane special — its rural character, strong families, and entrepreneurial spirit — while ensuring the community grows responsibly with the schools, health care, and infrastructure that families need.

  • Mavy supports Premier Danielle Smith and the UCP’s commitment to expanding choice in education — because strong systems give families real options.

Alberta is making significant investments to hire more teachers and expand classroom capacity, while also increasing support for charter, independent, and alternative schools.

When families can choose the learning environment that works best, it helps relieve pressure on overcrowded classrooms and improves outcomes across the system.

Mavy believes in an education system that is flexible, responsive, and focused on results — one that empowers parents and keeps pace with the growth we’re seeing in communities like Cochrane.

  • Mavy supports the UCP’s work to strengthen Alberta’s health care system by expanding access, reducing wait times, and supporting frontline workers.

This includes increasing surgical capacity through partnerships, adding beds, and improving how care is delivered across the province. At the same time, efforts are focused on recruiting and retaining health care professionals by improving working conditions and creating more flexible practice models.

Mavy believes in a patient-focused system that protects universal access while embracing practical solutions — ensuring families can get the care they need, when and where they need it.

  • Mavy Mangat understands that even in a strong, hardworking community like Cochrane and Springbank, families are feeling squeezed. Rising property taxes, higher utility and fuel costs, insurance increases, and mortgage pressure are making it harder for people to stay rooted in the communities they chose.

As a civil litigator and problem solver, Mavy approaches affordability with a practical lens: government must respect taxpayers, control spending, and create the conditions for good-paying Alberta jobs. He believes that if you’ve worked hard, built a life, and invested in your community, you should be able to afford to stay here — not feel pushed out by rising costs and poor planning.

  • Cochrane is growing fast — and Mavy believes growth should be a strength, not a source of strain.

Right now, too many families are seeing the gaps: crowded schools, limited access to healthcare, and daily frustration with traffic and commuting corridors like Highway 1A and 22.

Mavy supports responsible, well-planned growth that aligns with real infrastructure — schools, health care, housing, and transportation.

He brings a disciplined, solutions-oriented mindset to ensure that government planning keeps pace with reality. Growth must work for the people who already live here, not create new pressures that reduce quality of life.

  • Cochrane and Springbank are not Calgary — and preserving that distinction matters. Mavy and his wife, Alisha, chose to build their future here because of the space, independence, and strong sense of community that define the region.

Mavy is committed to protecting property rights, respecting acreage and agricultural communities, and ensuring that development decisions reflect local priorities — not top-down regional pressure. He understands the deep connection residents have to their land and lifestyle, and will work to protect what makes this area unique for the next generation.

  • Born and raised in Alberta, Mavy believes the decisions that shape our economy, energy sector, and future should be made here — not dictated by Ottawa. He is a strong advocate for Alberta’s energy industry, small business growth, and policies that create opportunity and long-term economic stability.

As a first-generation Canadian and dedicated conservative volunteer, Mavy brings a thoughtful perspective on growth — including ensuring immigration and economic expansion align with infrastructure, jobs, and community capacity. He believes in an Alberta First approach that is practical, principled, and focused on results — strengthening our economy while protecting the communities we call home.
